I suggest you ...

  1. restore Knol's formatting options like centering and extra fonts.

    The port from Knol to Annotum preserves most of the formatting — bolding, centering, fonts, etc. — but it gets lost again as soon as you make a single edit, and there doesn't seem to be a way to get centering or anything more than sans serif fonts back.
